About haddock (Melanogrammus Aeglefinus)
Haddock is a bottomfish that lives at depths of between 40 and 300 meters. It's most important spawning grounds in Iceland are near the south-west coast although it can be found all around the country.
The first years of its life the haddock grows fairly fast. At one years of age it can reach 20 centemeters and 30 cm in two years. Haddocks can reach 15 years of age in Icelandic seas.

Nutritional Value:
Haddock is primarily an excellent source of protein, It also contains plenty of vitamin B12, pyridoxine and selenium and has a good balance of sodium and potassium.

Diet
Haddock feeds mainly on small bottom-living organisms including crustaceans, mollusks, echinoderms, worms and fishes.

Use
Sold fresh, chilled as fillets, frozen, smoked and canned. Also utilized for fish meal and animal feeds. Can be steamed, fried, broiled, boiled, microwaved and baked
