About Plaice (Pleuronectes Platessa )
Plaice is a bottom-dwelling fish, most common off the south and west coasts of Iceland.
The youngest stay down to 10 meters deep while older fish go down to 200 meters and even deeper. It buries itself in the sandy bottom so only its eyes poke out. It can reach a meter in lenght and a weight of 7 kilos.

Nutritional Value:
Plaice is an outstanding source of B12 and also contains plenty of the fat-soluble vitamins A and D. The fat content of plaice varies, entailing a corresponding variation in the amount of omega-3 fatty acids.
